Solution

Manufacturing & Industrial

Backup and power quality for mixed industrial loads.

Industrial sites present the hardest power-protection problem: resistive, inductive and capacitive loads together, motors and robotics, regenerative drives, and a supply that is rarely clean.

COMPACT's position for mixed loads is transformer-based topology — the T-Series for single-phase machine loads, Enterprise Classic for three-phase facility loads — with the PPC where the need is precise voltage rather than autonomy.

The problem

Typical power issues

  • Mixed resistive / inductive / capacitive loads on one bus
  • Regenerative loads from drives that upset electromechanical stabilisers
  • Voltage fluctuation causing scrap, downtime and machine faults
  • Motor inrush and step loads
The response

Recommended approach

  1. 01Specify transformer-based online UPS (T-Series, Enterprise Classic) for mixed and inductive loads — higher MTBF and better load handling than transformerless in this duty.
  2. 02Use the PPC for machine lines that need ±1% voltage in 20 ms and comfortably handle regenerative loads — a solid-state replacement for the servo stabiliser.
  3. 03Run a power audit first to characterise the supply and the load before sizing.
  4. 04Cover the plant with AMC including preventive maintenance and spares.

What we can stand behind

COMPACT names industrial manufacturing and continuous-process industries among its deployment environments, including automotive manufacturing.

The obvious problem is rarely the whole picture. Send us the load, the site and the supply, and COMPACT's pre-sales team will come back with what the site actually needs — not just a catalogue match.
