Overview

What it is

The YD 3300 Series is COMPACT's three-phase transformerless online UPS, built on an IGBT converter with 0.99 input power-factor correction and input current harmonics below 3%. A full DSP control system samples voltage, current and frequency fast enough to hold the output tightly under disturbance.

With an ultra-wide 208–478 V input window, a site may never actually draw on the batteries except for a complete outage. The range delivers pure RAS — reliability, availability, scalability — for data centres and server farms, from 10 kVA to 80 kVA.

Key capabilities

What it does

0.99 input power factor

IGBT front end with input current harmonics (THDi) below 3% — no oversizing of upstream gensets, cables or switchgear.

Ultra-wide input window

208–478 VAC operating range and 45–66 Hz frequency window; batteries are held in reserve for true outages.

0 ms output transfer

Mains-to-battery and mains-to-bypass transfers are both 0 ms.

Full DSP digital control

High-speed sampling of V / I / frequency for accurate output regulation and fast fault response.

Parallel for expansion or redundancy

Units can be paralleled to add capacity or to build redundancy; flexible DC-bus configuration.

Flexible battery string

Optional 16 / 18 / 20 battery blocks per string with intelligent charging management and battery-group optimisation.

Remote monitoring + EPO

SNMP / MODBUS monitoring and control; USB, RS485, parallel port and dry-contact interfaces; emergency power off.

100% unbalanced load

The output can meet a fully unbalanced three-phase load.

Why this product

The engineering value

Built for the demands of a data centre

NOC, storage, server farms and mission-critical medical equipment need reliability, availability and scalability engineered together — thermal design, paralleling and very high MTBF.

The batteries stay in reserve

The wide input window means ordinary supply excursions are handled by the converter, not by transferring to battery — extending battery life and reducing risk.

Smaller footprint

A transformerless IGBT design in a vertical form factor takes less floor space than an equivalent transformer-based system.

Applications

Where it fits

Typical applications for this range — not an exhaustive list.

  • Data centres and server farms
  • Network operations centres (NOC)
  • Storage infrastructure
  • Mission-critical medical equipment
  • Surveillance and networked IT
Technology

Online double conversion with a 0 ms transfer

The IGBT rectifier feeds a DC bus that is shared with the battery; the inverter continuously regenerates the three-phase output.

On mains failure the inverter keeps running from the battery with no transfer time. A static bypass is available for overload or service.

Online double conversion — the load never sees the raw mains

The rectifier and inverter run continuously, regenerating a clean output. The battery floats on the DC bus, held in reserve — current is always flowing to the load.

Seven models, 10–80 kVA. The range steps 40 → 60 kVA — there is no 50 kVA rating. Battery voltage per the latest YD brochure: 192 / 240 V on 10–30 kVA, 384–456 V on 40–80 kVA (the legacy YD catalogue grouped 40 kVA with the lower-voltage class). Per-model cabinet dimensions/weights are indicative and confirmed by the sales team; whether the 40 kVA now uses the larger frame is a VERIFY item.
