Fault Tolerance Switch (STS)
A static transfer switch connects a single-corded load to two independent power paths and transfers between them in a fraction of a cycle if one path fails — the practical way to give single-input equipment the benefit of a second source.
When you need one
Redundancy without replacing the equipment
Where a critical load has a single power inlet, an STS is often the only practical route to a second independent source.
- Critical equipment that has only one power inlet (no dual PSU).
- Retrofitting a second independent source into an existing installation.
- Dual-feed distribution to racks and panels downstream of two UPS.
How COMPACT specifies it
Part of a redundant power design, not a boxed product
COMPACT does not sell a branded STS off the shelf. Where a design needs one, it is specified and integrated alongside parallel or redundant COMPACT online UPS — typically Enterprise Classic or YD Series — and covered under the same AMC.
